Recognition awards and scholarships to attend the Summer Institute

Dear state conference and chapter leaders,

I write to share important information about recognition awards and scholarships to attend the Summer Institute.

Recognition Awards

The AAUP's Assembly of State Conferences has extended the nomination period for the Al Sumberg Award, the Tacey Award, and Chapter and Conference Communications Awards to May 9. These awards will be presented at the Assembly of State Conferences business meeting on June 13, 2014. Information about these awards can be found at http://www.aaup.org/about/awards.

Summer Institute Scholarships

A limited number of ASC scholarships are available for attendance at the Summer Institute, to be held July 17-20 on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. Scholarships will cover the $550 registration fee and up to $500 in transportation costs. If your state conference or chapter would like to recommend a member for a scholarship, please let me know the name(s) and affiliation of the possible recipient and whether the state conference or chapter is providing support as well for attendance at the Summer Institute.
